We cordially invite children from all countries and regions, ethnic groups, and art schools to participate in the first "Song from the Heart" 2023 Canadian Global Children's Vocal Competition held by the Canadian Global Children's Culture and Art Foundation in Vancouver. We also invite distinguished guests, artists, sponsors, and media from all walks of life to attend.
The Canadian Global Children's Culture and Art Foundation provides a platform for cultural and artistic exchange and talent display for children around the world, connecting children from different parts of the world and promoting cultural exchange and interaction on a global scale.
The purpose of this competition is to inspire children of all ethnicities to sing, love life, and showcase their artistic talents. Through this activity, more children will be encouraged to love singing.

The Organizing Committee of the Canadian Global Children's Vocal Competition

1. Schedule
Deadline for preliminary competition registration: Aug 31, 2023 (fill in the registration form and upload video works)
Judging time for the preliminary round: Sept 1, 2023 - Sept 7, 2023 (the list of preliminary rounds will be announced on Sept 8)
Final date: Sept 23, 2023 (live competition)
*The schedule is subject to change, depending on the actual progress of the competition.
2. Eligibility:Participants must be under the age of 17 (including 17) and of any nationality, region, or ethnic group.
3. Categories:There are three categories: the 4-9 years old preschool group, the 10-12 years old children's group, and the 13-17 years old youth group.
4. Music Styles:There is no restriction on music styles, including classical, pop, folk, country, R&B, rap, etc.
5. Competition Types:There is no restriction on competition types, including solo, duet, trio, small chorus.
6. Competition Rules:
6.1 Competition stage:
● Preliminary round: The judging committee will review all the registered videos by groups and select 36 contestants to enter the finals;
● Finals: The review committee will select one grand prize, one first prize, two second prizes, and three third prizes according to the group, and submit them to the competition organizing committee.
6.2 Competition categories: (Each participant can participate in one or up to two different categories of competitions)
Solo singing, cover singing, singing and dancing, group singing, choir.
6.3 Work duration:
● Work duration should not exceed 5 minutes.
● Points will be deducted for overtime, with 0.1 points deducted for every 0.5 seconds of overtime.
6.4 Music accompaniment requirements: (for use in the finals by contestants who are present)
● The organizing committee only accepts MP3 accompaniment;
● The accompaniment music should be emailed to the event organizing committee 10 days before the start of the finals;
● Contestants are advised to prepare a backup of their music on a USB drive in case of difficulty in reading the original.
6.5 Singing content requirements:
Song content should be healthy and suitable for teenagers. Any singing style and language can be chosen. Song adaptation and innovation are encouraged, and each innovative singing work will receive bonus points based on its degree of innovation. The organizing committee has the right to terminate inappropriate performances and disqualify contestants from the competition.
*All registration materials for this competition are non-refundable. The organizing committee of the Canada Global Children's Cultural and Arts Foundation competition retains all ownership, usage and broadcasting rights to the works submitted. The committee has the right to copy, distribute, exhibit, and film the selected works; it also has the right to take photographs and use them publicly and free of charge; and international media publicity of the art festival.
7. Selection criteria: The organizer will hire renowned Canadian and international artists to form an expert evaluation committee to judge the entries.
7.1 The evaluation criteria will be based on the four aspects of the contestants' singing pitch, rhythm, singing expressiveness, and typhoon..
7.2 Qualifications for winning: Contestants must achieve the following rankings and scores to win trophies and prize money.
Grand Prize (Grand Prize Trophy + $300 CAD): The highest-ranking contestant with a score of 95 or above.
First Prize (First Prize Trophy + $200 CAD): Scores of over 90.
Second Prize (Second Prize Trophy + $100 CAD): Scores of over 85.
Third Prize (Third Prize Trophy + $50 CAD): Scores of over 80.
Grand Prize Trophy: 1 winner per category (score over 95).
First Prize Trophy: 1 winners per category (score over 90).
Second Prize Trophy: 2 winners per category (score over 85).
Third Prize Trophy: 3 winners per category (score over 80).
Certificate of Merit: Several winners per category.
Outstanding Organizational Award: Awarded to institutions or schools with more than 10 participants.
Winning contestants will receive a trophy, certificate, and a congratulatory letter signed by the honorary chairman of the competition organizing committee.
Some winning contestants will be recommended to participate in the Vancouver regional large-scale art performances for the year.
The final decision for all awards will be made by the expert evaluation committee. (Winners will be responsible for the mailing expenses of their certificate and trophy, and the organizing committee can make unified arrangements for mailing.)
8. Method of Participation:
8.1 Participants please visit the official registration website of the competition, https://cgcca.ca/entry.
8.2 Register to apply for a username and password, and log in to the registration system.
8.3 Add basic information of the participating players and upload the competition works. Click on the operation guide to see detailed steps.
8.4 Registration fee:
● Solo - CAD 45
● Duet/Trio - CAD 30 per person
● Small chorus - CAD 15 per person
All fees collected will be used to supplement the expenses of this year's competition activities and the overall production of the competition.
8.5 Payment methods:
In Canada: cash, cheque or online payment e-Transfer to CGCCA (email: payment@cgcca.ca). Cheques should be made payable to Canada Global Children's Culture and Arts Foundation.
Outside of Canada: PayPal, WeChat Pay. Please write the participant's name and category in the payment note. After successful payment, please upload a photo of the payment voucher to the official website.
8.6 After the organizing committee confirms receipt of the competition works and payment information, they will notify the participants by email.
The final interpretation right of the competition regulations belongs to the CGCCA organizing committee.
